The Disney Outpost Is Now Magic & Matcha!

It’s time for a change!

For a few years, I’ve been splitting my posts into two separate blogs so my Disney content would be its own thing away from, well, everything else. To be totally honest, though, it’s become exhausting. I love blogging, but I already struggle with it feeling more like work than a hobby sometimes, and trying to manage two blogs with any level of success wasn’t helping that.

While it’s only a small piece of my day job, I do spend a lot of time managing social media and writing blogs there, and sometimes it’s just so difficult to come home and continue doing the same type of task, even if it is for my own personal hobby.

On top of the work/life balance issue, neither blog ever felt truly “me” if that makes sense. They both just felt like pieces of me, and this sounds a little dramatic but it ultimately made me feel like both sites didn’t really convey my authentic self to my readers, and that’s obviously not how I want this to go! It felt like readers on my Disney blog would only know me as a Disney adult (a term I actually loathe despite being extremely deep into the Disney fandom, but that’s a topic for its own post!). And on my other blog, it felt like while it’s not my whole personality Disney is a huge part of my life and all of my readers there were missing that.

Going forward, I really just want this blog to be about…whatever I want to write about. I want to broaden my Disney content, so a lot of it will probably still appeal to people who are already “Disney adults,” but with my love of helping people plan travel, I do want to include some more basic trip planning guides, too. I have some big ideas for more film/tv content (including maybe bringing back the podcast Josh and I started later this year!), and I definitely want to be able to just freely write about all kinds of travel and lifestyle content without feeling so boxed into having to make it appeal to Disney fans.

It’s not Orlando, but I actually really love living in New England, too, and not sharing more content around things I’m doing up here has felt like a huge disservice over the years, and I am so ready to fix that!

Magic & Matcha will simply be the culmination of anything I want to write about. I still envision lots of Disney posts, but I’m also excited to write more about museums I love, theatre, movies, books, maybe even fashion….

I know this is kind of a vague post, and I’d love to share some more specifics but I’m still working out a lot of the details. If you’re still here from The Disney Outpost, thank you for sticking around! And if you’re new to Magic & Matcha, I’m so excited to start sharing a little bit of everything with you.

Thanks for reading + talk soon!
