Dinner at Santarpio's Pizza in Peabody, MA

I don’t know how I’ve never been to Santarpio’s Pizza, but earlier this week we decided it was time to finally change that!

Josh and I stopped in for a quick dinner after work, and I am already thinking about those leftovers. I was so tempted to order an espresso martini (or a bottle of wine, honestly, where they were only about $20), but I ultimately felt like I just needed the caffeine and not the alcohol, so my usual combo of iced tea and water it was.

We started off with a skewer of steak tips to share. These were perfect to share alongside the pizza, and they were served with a massive piece of Italian bread and hot cherry peppers. If you’re not a fan of a saucy steak tip but still want something flavorful, these would be great steak tips for you.

Drinks and Steak Tips at Santarpio's Pizza

For pizza, we went with our go-to toppings of pepperoni and mushrooms. I generally like to try just a cheese pizza first if it’s a new-to-me pizza place, but knowing Santarpio’s is so popular, I went straight for pepperoni and mushrooms instead (and I’m glad I did!)

The toppings were great, but I think the standout feature of this pizza was the cheese and sauce. Both were really flavorful, and I’d love to get back here sometime to try some of their other toppings. (I also love a white pizza and noticed they have a Shrimp Scampi and a Cheese, Broccoli, and Garlic Pizza on the menu, so I may have to try one of those next time, too.)

Santarpio’s Peabody Location

Santarpio’s Peabody location is located on Route 1 North, just beyond the lineup of Marriott and Hampton Inn hotels, Sonic, and Wendy’s. It’s a perfect spot to stop in, sit at the bar with a pizza and a beer, and play some Keno. And while it’s a tad out of the way for me, it’s definitely worth trying if you’ve also never been before, and can be a nice, affordable lunch or dinner option if you’re staying near this part of Rt. 1 to visit Salem or Boston.

If you’re local to this area and reading this, you probably already know all about Santarpio’s (or perhaps their original location in East Boston), but just in case, you can view their menu or place an order online at santarpiospizza.com. 🍕
